We CNC machined this molybdenum standoff here at F&A Machine on an ongoing basis, in quantities of 100-200 units per order, just-in-time as needed by our customer in the semiconductor industry. Since we specialize in CNC machining of molybdenum parts, we always have bar stock on hand and are capable of executing projects with very short lead times.
To CNC machine this molybdenum stand off, we utilize one of our CNC machining centers to form the main body by turning molybdenum bar stock to a 0.50" O.D. Additional machining passes are used create the smaller diameter ends, which are then tapped and threaded according to the specification. The vent hole is drilled and the 0.375" flat is milled on a milling center, and the parts are sent for inspection to ensure that they were manufactured to within ±.005" tolerances.
