Custom CNC Milling of a Molybdenum Heat Shield for the Semiconductor Industry

At F&A Machine, we have both the skills and machinery to execute short production runs, rapidly and cost-effectively. We custom CNC machined 500 units of this molybdenum heat shield, used in a machine for a semiconductor application, at a competitive price and within the tight turnaround time requested by our customer.

After our machining team rough cut molybdenum plate stock on a band saw, each piece was heat treated and then moved to our CNC milling machine where it was edge finished to a 7.35" O.D./1.00" I.D. This latest technology milling center was also used to precisely drill the delicate hole pattern and mill the edge slots to within the ±.005" tolerances required in the customer specification, confirmed by a 100% dimensional inspection carried out by our quality engineers. Our efficient operations allowed us to ship the completed order to the customer right on time and right on budget.
